Dustin W. Manwaring, raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, has lived and practiced law in Pocatello as a business and intellectual property attorney since 2010. Manwaring has strong Idaho roots, returning to the “Gem State” after attending undergraduate at University of Utah and law school at Drake University in Iowa. During law school, Manwaring worked for Mitt Romney’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns and served as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. Prior to that, Manwaring worked for Utah-based SkyWest Airlines, managing hundreds of agents and over 150 flights a day at the Salt Lake City International Airport. His education, work and management experience have given him the opportunity to live in and travel to several different states and visit more than 16 foreign countries in the past 15 years.
Manwaring’s law practice has grown into a very busy boutique firm serving many individuals and small businesses in both California and Idaho where he is licensed to practice. Manwaring has appeared and successfully argued cases before the Idaho Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.
In 2016, Manwaring was elected as the only Republican state representative in the 29th legislative district, representing the City of Pocatello and surrounding area in the Idaho House of Representatives. Manwaring serves on the Business, State Affairs, and Local Government committees.
Manwaring received the 2017 Idaho Young Republican Elected Official of the Year award from the Idaho Young Republicans and was recently awarded as one of Idaho State Business Journal’s 20 under 40 young professionals. He was selected to travel to New Zealand in 2018 with the American Council of Young Political Leaders as a rising leader to help foster mutual understanding, respect, and friendships among the next generation of leaders.
In 2018, Manwaring was nominated by the Speaker of the Idaho House and chosen as one of fifty state legislators from across the country to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program, sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
